Nomura talks recent offer from USC, where he'd fit with the Trojans

Those of us covering a specific team, like USC in our case, head out to high schools each year to check on the top football prosepects the coaching staffs from those school are targeting. What often happens is we’re then intoduced to other extremely talented players who haven’t gotten noticed, been seen or had opportunities to compete at camps/combines.

Centennial DB/LB Sivi Nomura is one of the players we and many others became aware of when checking on DE Drake Jackson. The Huskies have multiple D-I prospects every year and while Jackson and 2020 WR Gary Bryant Jr. were getting the most attention from the higher-profile football programs, Nomura was racking up scholarship offers and he now has 15 plus, including a recent offer from USC.

When Centennial held its College Recruiting Showcase in May and had 40 or more college coaches in attendance to evalaute the Husky players, nearly all coaches were asking who No. 9 was (Nomura).

Nomura doesn’t have a five-star ranking or offers from every elite program in the country, but this kid is a really, really good football player. This isn’t just our opinion, it’s the opinion of everyone we know who’s seen him play. USC has been watching him closely since April.

What football programs get in players like Nomura are kids who are talented, hungry, hard working, have been brought up by a great family and been well coached in high school. Nobody does a better job than Matt Logan and his staff at Centennial.

TrojanInsider.com was at Centennial on Wednesday for Drake Jackson’s signing-day ceremony and caught up with Nomura to talk about his recent offer from USC, where things stand in the recruiting process and much more.
