4-Star TX DB Xavion Alford visits USC, could he return?

March 13, 2019

We first met Shadow Creek (TX) DB Xavion Alford‍ in San Antonio at the first 2019 West practice for the All American Bowl on Jan. 1. He’d just gotten his tenth offer from Indiana that day.

When we saw him two weeks ago at the Fast Houston Classic, his offer total stood at 39. After USC and ASU offered, the total is now at 41. Alford could be one of the hottest prospects in Texas and holds offers from Arizona, Arkansas, Auburn, Baylor, Boston College, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Houston, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas St., Louisville, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Michigan St., Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oklahoma St., Oregon,  Penn St., Purdue, Rutgers, SMU, Texas, Texas A&M, TCU, Texas Tech, Utah, Utah St., Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech and Washington. That’s an exceptionally impressive offer list.

Alford and his Fast Houston 7v7 teammates arrived in Los Angeles Saturday morning and headed to USC for Spring Practice, met the coaches, toured the campus, did the uniform photo shoot and got a feel for what the vibe is like at USC.

Alford, Josh Eaton‍ and Dwight McGlothern‍ are in Eugene (OR) today.

Its a tall task to get one of the top prospects from Texas to leave home for college, but an unofficial visit can lead to an official visit and anything can happen after that. The key thing is, USC got Alford and eight or nine other players from Texas on campus last Saturday.

TI spoke to Alford on Sunday after the Adidas West Coast Invitational.
